Cake Collection Guide
COLLECTION ADDRESS
Let’s Eat Cake Wellington, 15b Steyne Avenue, Plimmerton
As you drive into Plimmerton from SH58, I’m on the right just after the underpass to the station. If you go beyond ‘Thai Plimmerton’, you’ve gone too far!
PARKING
There is one parking space directly next to Let’s Eat Cake. Turn right immediately after the building. If that space is taken there is also plenty of on-street parking available all along the main road.
If you’re struggling to park nearby, give me a call and I’ll come out to meet you.
COLLECTION TIME
We will agree a collection time when you confirm your order, or you’ll choose a collection time when you place your order online.
It’s really important that you arrive when you say you will. Let’s Eat Cake is just me, so I need to keep a close eye on time to get everything done. If something comes up or changes, please let me know as soon as possible. My number is 0224748945. Text is usually best as I’m not always able to answer the phone while I’m working.
TRAVELLING WITH YOUR CAKE
I want your cake to be as perfect when it arrives at your event as when it leaves my kitchen.
I will set your cake in the fridge ready to travel, but please remember it is still only held together by butter icing!
***Tilting or shaking movements may cause the butter icing to become unstable and the layers or decorations to shift***
Don’t be afraid of travelling with cake but do be mindful of how you drive. Drive smoothly, turn slowly and avoid heavy braking!!
I strongly recommend travelling with your cake in the boot of the car. If that is not possible, put it in the passenger foot-well. Try to avoid travelling with your cake on the seats or on your lap as this means it will be tilted for the duration of the journey.
If possible, bring a couple of towels or blankets to pop around the base of the box to stop it sliding.
Your cake will be in a cardboard travel box and on a sturdy cake board, but you will still need to take care. The cake box sides will flex in and out, so please remove any items from the area that could fly about and knock into the box.
Always pick up the box from the bottom to avoid the sides of the box touching your cake.
If you don’t feel confident collecting your cake, or for whatever reason you’re not able to collect, just let me know and we can try to organise delivery
STORING YOUR CAKE AT HOME
I recommend collecting your cake on the day you plan to serve it, however if you need to store it overnight, let me know and I’ll make appropriate suggestions for storage. In warm weather you will need to find space in the fridge to store your cake. In cooler months, you can simply keep it cool and out of the sun (or any other direct source of heat). Either way, you will need to ensure your cake is back at room temperature before serving for best flavour and texture.
Once cut, any leftovers will need to be stored in an airtight container. You can keep leftovers at room temperature for up to 3 days. If you want to keep it longer than this, pop it in the fridge. Just allow to come back up to room temperature before you eat it. You can also freeze leftovers. Again, place in an airtight box. Defrost overnight if possible. Never microwave cake!!!
And that’s it. You’re all set
Thank you so much for ordering your cake from me. I hope you enjoy eating it as much as I’m going to enjoy making it.

ALLERGENS AND ALLERGIES
I believe that no-one should miss out on cake, so I bake for those with all sorts of special dietary requirements. I do everything in my power to ensure that my cakes are safe for those with allergies and intolerances, but please be aware that I bake and decorate all cakes in the same kitchen and cannot therefore guarantee a fully allergen free environment.
